Olivia Heale
Olivia has 4 years of experience working in non-profit organizations and with Muslim and Middle East and North African communities. She is proficient in Arabic, lived in Morocco for four months, and has worked with both a Muslim-American civil rights organization (CAIR-WA) and a women’s economic empowerment center in Meknés, Morocco. In addition to providing cultural insight into Souk’s venture, Olivia brings to the table strong leadership skills, a background in non-profit communications and graphic design work, and an entrepreneurial spirit that has been part of her family legacy for four generations.
How we source our products
Souk is unique because our supply chain relies on Moroccan Artisans. Moroccan Artisans buy from their respective supply chains and create the clothing that they want to sell themselves, which makes Souk a human-focused platform--an alternative to going through a large fair-trade bulk sale company or relying on unethical retail clothing corporations who often source from sweatshops. Through this method, Souk empowers individual men and women across Morocco so that they can take businesses into their own hands and financially support their families.
In this, every product you see here on Souk's website is handmade, custom and will support an artisan in Morocco.
